Ms. Ashlee Cox - Art Teacher, Fine Arts Department


Ms. Cox received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and comes to us with 10 years experience teaching Art, Photography, Crafts, and Ceramics. In her free time, she likes to crochet, draw, throw pottery, and make all kinds of crafts.



Kirstin Anderson - Music Instructor 


Education: Bachelor of Arts in Music from The University of Alabama in Huntsville
Special Awards/Certifications: Orff Schulwerk Level 1 certification (2015), Orff Schulwerk Level 2 certification (2016)
Children's Music Director since January 2015, volunteer with Community, Opportunity, and Generosity through Music Education (COG-ME) in Fall 2013
Hobbies/Talents: Sings with the Huntsville Community Chorus, both Chamber and Symphonic Choirs; plays piano; enjoys the sport of fencing

Mrs. Weston attended Alabama  A&M University and has 6 years of experience teaching Special Education and 22 more years working at Holy Family!!!   Her favorite inspiration is Footprints which is fitting considering how many lives she has touched over the years.

[holy family health] In grades pre-kindergarten through fourth, health concepts are taught as a part of the classroom science curriculum. In grades fifth through eighth, the Current Health curriculum is used to teach students about contemporary health issues facing them daily such as obesity, bullying, teenage hygiene, substance abuse and other elements of today’s world.



Physical Education

Mr. Joe Sottolano


Undergraduate and graduate Degree in Physical Education Teaching from Ithaca College.  Over 23 years of College Teaching and Coaching.  Have coached and trained kids in baseball of all ages for over 25 years.  New York native.  Married to Lori Sottolano with two sons, Nicholas (15) and Tyler (12).

Physical Education at Holy Family Regional School consists of teaching fundamental skills in physical fitness, sportsmanship, and teamwork. We work on developing motor skills through games, calisthenics, ball handling training and agility training.



Mr. Gary Mahon - Computer Instructor 


We at Holy Family Regional School recognize the importance of technology in our high-tech community. Classrooms are equipped with either an interactive white board, or a document camera—dependent upon the needs of the instructor. Additionally, we continue to expand our hand held technologies such as Classroom Responders and Ipads. All of this augments the 60 Chromebooks our student use for research, writing and the development of business technology skills.  

Has an EdS and Master’s degree from the University of Alabama.

Has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Montevallo.

Taught 8 ½ years at Holy Family, grades 2 and 6/7/8.

Taught Computer and middle school Math at Holy Spirit School and Resource at Holy Family.

Is a US Navy Vietnam veteran.

Serves St. Joseph Church as Choir Director for the 8:15 Mass on Sunday.

enjoys spending his spare time with his wife, Nancy, and daughter, Emily, who  graduated this year from Athens State - Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Elementary Education!


Carrie Turner - Librarian


Mrs. Turner has 16 years of experience teaching in Catholic schools. She earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University. War Eagle! Before becoming a teacher, Mrs. Turner spent her summers as a camp counselor. She serves as a Eucharistic Minister and lector for her parish. Mrs. Turner enjoys being creative with photography, drawing, painting, and crafting. She's even taken glassblowing and lamp-working classes. She dreams of being a professional audiobook narrator. Her spare time is spent reading, traveling, playing board games, watching movies, working in the yard, or cheering on the Auburn Tigers with her husband, three kids, two dogs, and two cats. 

The Holy Family Library contains a large collection of both fiction and non-fiction materials for research and circulation. We believe that the love of reading starts at an early age and is the gift of a lifetime. We encourage all students to utilize the library for both academics and for fun.

The basic premise of a Catholic Education is to imbue the entire school curriculum with the love of Christ, the message of the Gospels, and the promise of our savior. Additionally, Holy Family offers formal instruction in Religion using the Christ Our Life series from Loyola Press. Pre-kindergarten uses the Seeds program from Pflaum. Students in grades K-8 attend Mass every Thursday morning at 9:00am and take part in designing the Mass, offering readings, leading music and participating in the petitions.


School Counselor

Mrs. Davis Carter - School Counselor


Mrs. Carter earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University in Special Education /Collaborative Teacher (K-12).  Her Master's Degree in School Counseling (P-12) was awarded by the University of West Alabama.  Having 10 years teaching experience, Ms. Carter holds membership in the Alabama Counseling Association and the American School Counselor Association.  



Elia Rodriguez


Born and raised in Puebla, México. In 1988, my husband, our two babies and I moved to Boston, Massachusetts and, in 1990 to Huntsville, Alabama.

27 years of teaching experience, that includes PK to 12th grade, and basic ESL for adults. I have a Certification in Spanish and Social Science (6th – 12th grade) from the State of Alabama.
