Holy Family Regional School offers a comprehensive pre-kindergarten experience for 4 year olds. Our young students are integrated into all school activities including art, music, physical education and library. Students may play school soccer and participate in the school lunch program, assemblies, and most other school activities.
First Class Pre-K provides effective, high quality early childhood experiences that prepare Alabama's children for school success and lifelong learning.
Office of School Readiness defines school readiness as a condition whereby children enter school with:
• an enthusiasm for learning,
• an ability to function in a a social setting,
• age-appropriate communication and problem solving skills,
• age-appropriate physical and emotional skills, and
• optimal health.
Why High-Quality Pre-Kindergarten?
Numerous studies have shown that students who have participated in high-quality pre-kindergarten programs:
• are less likely to repeat a grade, require remedial education, or be placed in special education,
• score higher on achievement tests,
• are more likely to graduate from high-school and go on to college
• get higher paying salaries as adults, and
• are more likely to stay out of prison and off welfare.
Meet the Teachers!
Mrs. Kathryn Libera
Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Athens State University
It is my pleasure to introduce myself, Kathryn Harrison Libera. I received my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Athens State University in May 2015. This is my third year teaching Pre-Kindergarten, second year teaching at Holy Family School. Throughout my life, I have dedicated time to teaching and taking care of children; from babysitting to teaching Vacation Bible School classes.
I have a passion for teaching! I enjoying watching my students grow and learn throughout the school year. I also enjoy learning new ways to teach by participating in workshops, trainings, and seminars. These professional development opportunities provide me with the appropriate tools to teach the latest trends and procedures needed to positively impact student learning.
I am from Double Springs, Alabama but have been living in Huntsville for four years. I am happily married to Daniel Libera. We have one daughter, Lillian, who also attends Holy Family and a School, and a newborn son, Harrison. We also have one sweet long-haired chihuahua, Sugar. When not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My family and I love spending time together outside, cooking, and watching movies.

Although my life revolves around teaching, I enjoy decorating, antiquing, being a beach bum, and hanging out with my daughter. I am also a huge sports fan. I love college football and the Dolphins. My latest obsession is the NBA and the Champion Golden State Warriors. Go DubNation!
