Welcome to Holy Family
FAITH - DIVERSITY - SERVICE Holy Family School provides an excellent academic foundation while promoting FAITH, DIVERSITY, and SERVICE. Focusing on FAITH, we meet as a school family each morning to pray and reflect on God's word. We also provide daily religion instruction and weekly student-led Mass celebration. Our school has a rich history of DIVERSITY, where students from all races and socioeconomic backgrounds work and learn together in peace and harmony. Through our quarterly SERVICE projects, students learn to give back to their community and develop a heart filled with love and charity. Our school mission is to FEED THE POOR, and we do this by brinigng canned goods every Thursday as our offertory at Mass. Beneficiaries of our service projects include St. Vincent de Paul Center for Concern, Downtown Rescue Mission, Limestone County Prison, and a Catholic School in Venezuela.
ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE- At Holy Family, we have ramped up our curriculum to include more multi-sensory, hands-on learning experiences as well as an emphasis on WRITING. We are an AMSTI (Alabama Math Science Technology) school teaching Next Generation Science along with our top performing Science Olympiad Team, who has finished first or second 10 out of the last 11 years. Our middle school grades will have advanced options in all content areas in the 2017-18 school year and beyond. Our eighth graders will have PreAP courses offered to better prepare them for AP courses at JPII.
ENCORE, & EXTRACURRICULAR: Our students enjoy music and art every week, along with other Encore classes offered every two weeks which include Spanish, Guidance, Computer, and our new Leadership course. Holy Family offers many extracurricular opportunities. We are an AHSAA school that allows all 7th and 8th graders to participate with the JPII Middle School or High School program, and we offer Youth Volleyball, Soccer, Basketball, Wrestling, and Track for our younger grades. Holy Family also offers a wide variety of after school clubs to meet the needs of individual student’s interest. Clubs include (but not limited to): BETA, Chess Club, Craft/Sewing Club, Robotics, and music lessons.
NEW LOOK: We have new textbooks, new materials, new playground (April, 2017), and a new look in our middle and elementary wings and our cafeteria!
